... and give disadvantaged South African children the opportunity to achieve more in school, and in life.

Join Ubuntu Global Connections as we support Axium Education and its rural education programs that are bringing transformative change to the historically neglected Zithulele community in the remote Eastern Cape area.

Why support Axium Education?

According to a 2020 Amnesty International report, more than 75% of South African nine-year-olds cannot read for meaning in any language. In the Eastern Cape province, where Axium Education is based, the percentage is 85%. As Nelson Mandela famously said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” Founded in 2010, Axium Education is raising the level of education in rural South African communities in order to eliminate the massive inequities that remain in post-apartheid South Africa.

Any donation in support of Axium Education will be made to its US partner Ubuntu Global Connections, a 501(c)(3) located in Concord, MA. Ubuntu Global Connections, founded in 2011 by Concord resident Amy Gleason, provides US donors an easy, tax-efficient and reliable way to support Axium’s continuing work in South Africa. With the dollar strengthening against the South African rand, every donation stretches an extra mile.
