Sponsor a Classroom in Rural South Africa
Through Ubuntu Global Connections (a US based non-profit), a monthly donation of $35 will sponsor a classroom of your choice at Zithulele Independent School. When you sign up, you can select one of four classrooms: Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2, Grades 3 and 4 or Grades 5 through 7. In 2025, you will also have the option to select Grade 8.
Zithulele is a small, rural South African community with few resources and many challenges. Unemployment in the area is 77% and just 9% of households have access to electricity. Public elementary school classrooms often have up to 70 students for one teacher. Zithulele Independent School offers children an alternative to the public schools; it provides them a unique opportunity to receive a high quality bilingual education with a teacher student ratio of 8:1 and a path to a better future.
